The Columbia Cougar Flats II, which sleeps up to eight people, is equipped with both a Cyclone venting system and a GoBe Dry rain protection system. The Cyclone system greatly increases the air circulation within the tent, helping you stay cool on warmer days or dry out after a nasty rainstorm. The GoBe Dry system, meanwhile, ensures that the pounding rain won't find a way inside. The tent even includes a patented bay window design that lets you keep the windows open during the storm.

It has a sturdy rolling case with a strong plastic bottom that actually allows the tent to fit back in it fairly easily. There is an expansion zipper that allows quite a bit more space if you want to store a tarp or mat in with the tent bag.

For family tents, the Columbia Cougar Flats II is very easy to put up even due to the color coding of the poles even without instructions. To make it much easier, install the roof polls on first. The new awning is a fabulous addition, especially if you want to leave muddy shoes at the door! The Columbia Cougar Flats II floor is now made of nylon which cuts down on noise and is also less prone to holes. It is strongly advisable to use a tent saver underneath that is slightly smaller than the tent footprint.

We use a queen size air matress on each side and there is still about 4 x 7 feet of open floor space on each side to use. It is soooo enjoyable to be able to stand up, walk around freely, have no difficulty accessing either side of the queen mattresses, and have room to put everything we want in convienent areas. Plain and simple, there is room to live in in this size tent. You can sit and eat, play a game, have your own space to relax, and get dressed/undressed while able to stand up and walk around freely. You could use this tent for a base camp tent for 3 people, cots and supplies for about a month and not feel cramped. It is that big. If size is what you need, and you need lots of ventilation for hot summer nights, the Eureka Copper Canyon is it.

This tent exceeded every expectation I had. I was skeptical of only having a stake at each corner, but when properly set up the tent is extremely stable. The steel and fiberglass poles are all heavy duty and the set up is easy with 2 people (only took 10-15 min. without instructions). The rainfly is easily assembled and appears to cover all the mesh.
